Red Ribbon Club opened at Imphal NIELIT

Imphal: A Red Ribbon Club was opened at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Akampat, Imphal on Tuesday.


This was the 46th Red Ribbon Club opened in the state under Manipur State AIDS Control Society.



It was opened by N. Debachandra Singh, director, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Akampat.


A Blood Donation Awareness Camp and opening function of the club was held at the Institute’s conference hall.


The club was opened in presence of Dr. K. Surjit Singh, nodal officer, JNIMS Blood Bank and Transfusion Unit and Phanjoubam Lanngamba, Asst. director, (Documentation & Publicity) and in-charge Youth, MACS.


Red Ribbon Clubs are opened at college and universities in the state by Manipur State AIDS Control Society for generating awareness about drugs and HIV among youth. They closely work with NSS units of the colleges and universities.
